Mt Hermon: First Sight

Bayt-Jan is somewhere here on the eastern slopes of Mt Hermon

Mt Hermon Map

The village of Bayt-Jan, where I was born and brought up, is on the eastern slopes of Mount Hermon (zoom in to see the name if you like -only they spelled it Bayt-Jinn which doesn't produce the right pronunciation- should be Bayt-Jan), 60km south west of Damascus: just turn right before Sa'sa, and keep driving to the very end of the highway.

Scenes from Beit-Jan

AHWAJ Creek: a tributary of the Barada river that goes through Damascus and ends in the Uteiba lake.

AHWAJ Creek valley famous for the most beautiful apricots, apples, cherries and wall nuts.

3-World Wide Web vis-a-vis Internet

The Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure. It connects millions of computers together globally, forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as they are both connected to the Internet.

The World Wide Web, or simply Web, is a way of accessing information over the medium of the Internet. It is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the Internet. The Web uses the HTTP protocol, only one of the languages spoken over the Internet, to transmit data. Web services, which use HTTP to allow applications to communicate in order to exchange business logic, use the the Web to share information.
